Streaming protected content In order to stream protected tracks such as those purchased from online music stores, the protected tracks must be authorized/activated on the PC. 5. Streaming online content In order to stream online content, such as subscription radio, you must log on to the service. It's recommended that you configure your player for automatic log-in so that StreamPoint can access the content when you try to stream it from the remote. 6. Streaming iTunes podcasts To play podcasts, download them to your PC first. They will be aggregated in StreamPoint as regular music tracks. 7. Adding Internet Radio stations To stream Internet radio stations from the remote, follow this procedure to add them to the StreamPoint library: For Windows Media Player: - Launch Windows Media Player, create a new playlist - Select an Internet radio station and play it - Click on Now Playing on the left pane in Windows Media Player, click on the currently playing station and drag-and-drop it into the playlist you created - Save the playlist. - Open StreamPoint Settings, select Windows Media and click Update Now to aggregate the Internet radio stations in StreamPoint For iTunes: - Launch iTunes, select File > New Playlist to create a new playlist - Click on Radio on the left pane of iTunes - Drag and drop your favorite radio station from the list into the playlist you created - Open StreamPoint Settings, select iTunes and click Update Now to aggregate the Internet radio stations in StreamPoint Note: You can change the name of the radio station by putting each radio station in its own playlist. The name of the playlist will be displayed on the remote as the name of the radio station. 8. Troubleshooting 8.1 Remote loses connection If your remote loses the connection, launch the Setup Wizard by clicking Start > Programs > Logitech > StreamPoint > Setup Wizard and follow the instructions to re-connect it. 8.2 Tracks added to your media player do not appear on the remote If tracks are added to your media player (Windows Media Player, iTunes, MusicMatch) or to the monitored file folders, but they don't appear on the remote, try one or more of the following: - Verify that the media player is selected with its Update mode set to Automatic or Manual - Click Update Now or Update All Now in StreamPoint Settings control panel - Set the Update Mode to Do Not Include, then set it back to Manual or Automatic - Close your media player. Sometimes the player does not update its library on disk until you exit. - Press the Home key on the remote to get back to the Home menu, then navigate to the My Music menu again - Turn the remote off, then back on 8.3 Remote does not display the Home menu when powered on If you have a large music library it may take a few seconds for the menu to display. If the remote still does not show the Home menu try one or more of the following: - Exit, then re-launch StreamPoint - Turn the remote off, then back on - If you are logged on to more than one session (Fast User Switch), log off from other sessions and re-launch StreamPoint 8.4 Cannot play tracks When you get an error message on the remote when trying to play a track please check the following: - Verify the track exists on disk. If your music resides on a removable or network disk, check that it is accessible - Make sure the track can be played using the media player on the PC - If the track is protected, make sure the track has been activated on the PC - Check on the PC for any error messages 8.5 No sound when playing music When you try to stream from the remote and there is no sound, check one or more of the following: - Verify that the correct Room/Receiver is selected - Verify that your stereo system or speakers are turned on - Verify that the right input is selected on your stereo system - Adjust the volume If there is no connection between the Music Receiver/Dock and the USB Music Transmitter, i.e. the LEDs on both devices are not lit blue, try one or more of the following: - Press once on the Connect button on the back of the Music Receiver/Dock - Unplug, then re-plug the USB Music Transmitter to the same or another USB port - Exit and restart StreamPoint 8.6 Turning off the remote stops the music This is by design. The remote will automatically go into power saving mode when not in use so there's no need to turn off. Put the remote on the charging cradle when not in use. 8.7 No sound on the local speakers after connecting the audio transmitter. Please check the audio properties and verify that the correct audio device is selected for local play back. 8.8 Remote does not show Home menu When you turn on the remote and it shows the "OK" screen, but does not show the Home menu, try one or more the following: - Verify that StreamPoint is running on the PC - Exit and restart StreamPoint, or reboot the PC 8.9 Multi-user support If you have multiple user accounts on the PC, only the user who installs the product will be prompted to configure the StreamPoint library. All users on the PC share the same StreamPoint music library settings. Because of the limitations of the players (Windows Media Player, iTunes) that StreamPoint uses to stream music, you can only stream music in the active user session. When you fast-user switch or log on to another user account, StreamPoint will stop streaming and shut down. 8.10 "StreamPoint.WMPServer.exe" error If you get a StreamPoint error with the message "Streampoint.WMPServer.exe not running" it could mean the Performance Counters are disabled or corrupted on your system. To enable the Performance Counters, create or set this registry value and restart the PC: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PerfProc\Performance] "DisablePerformanceCounters"=dword:0 If that does not solve the problem, the Performance Counters may be corrupted. Refer to this Microsoft Knowledge Base article for information on how to restore their value: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=300956 9. Known issues - When playing tracks that are aggregated in File Folders, the tracks are added to the library of the media player that is used for playing those tracks - File tags edited in Musicmatch are not updated in StreamPoint library. This is a MusicMatch issue. - StreamPoint can only stream to one "Room" at a time. You can switch from one room to another from the remote or from the PC. - Some music tracks in the StreamPoint music library may not accessible from other user accounts. If you add music tracks that are in your My Music folder, these tracks may not be accessible to other users due to security settings on your PC. - StreamPoint may, in some cases, not display the names of the Internet radio stations correctly. - Track duration on the Now Playing screen is incorrect. This can happen if the track comes from MusicMatch's library. This only happens the first time the track is played. 10.
