UNINSTALLING WINDOWS XP SOUND BLASTER DRIVERS AND APPLICATIONS -------------------------------------------------------------- The drivers and applications from your Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Installation CD for Windows XP are not compatible with Windows Vista. Before installing your new Windows Vista drivers and applications, uninstall any existing drivers and applications for Windows XP when you upgrade to Windows Vista. To do so, do the following in Windows Vista: 1) Click Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program. 2) Select your audio device's entry. 3) Click the Uninstall/Change button. 4) In the InstallShield Wizard dialog box, select the Remove All option. 5) Click the Yes button. 6) Restart your computer when prompted. ENABLING SPDIF OUT DEVICES --------------------------- Windows Vista may not detect your audio device's SPDIF Out jack. 2.1 To enable SPDIF Out in Windows Vista 1) Click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound. 2) Select the Speakers entry and click the Properties button. 3) Select the Custom tab and select the Digital Output Only check box.
