Windows XP Home/Professional Wireless Driver Update instructions for Omnibook 6100, Omnibook xt6050 and Omnibook xt/vt6200 wireless notebook computers: If a retail version of Windows XP Home/Professional has been installed BUT an HP wireless driver has NOT YET been installed on the system - start at step 16, otherwise start at step 1. 1. Open Control Panel from the Start menu. 2. Click "Add or Remove Programs" to open the Add or Remove Programs Wizard. 3. Highlight "HP Wireless LAN by Actiontec" in the list of installed programs and press the button. 4. On the "Welcome" screen, select the "Remove" option and press the button. 5. Press the button on the "Confirm File Deletion" dialog box. 6. On the "Maintenance Complete" dialog box, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now." option and press the button. 7. If the "Found New Hardware Wizard" displays, click the button. 8. Open Control Panel from the Start menu. 9. Click "Performance and Maintenance" 10. Click "System" to open the System Properties window. 11. Select the "Hardware" tab and press the button to open the Device Manager. 12. After your computer finishes booting, ensure that the Wireless LAN device is enabled by pressing the Wireless LAN On/Off button until the blue LED is On. You can also verify that the Wireless LAN device is on by opening "Show all connections" from the Start - Connect To menu. Verify that the "Wireless Network Connection" icon does not indicate "Disabled". 21. Once you have verified that the Wireless LAN device is On, update the wireless firmware by running the PSU6110 utility from the location of the updated driver files. The default location of this utility is C:\HP\Drivers\Update\Wireless\mPCI1737\PSU6110.exe 22. On the "PSU: PRISM Station Update" utility, verify that the Status indicates that the utility is ready to copy the firmware. If it indicates a problem, correct the problem and restart the utility. 23. Press the button when the utility is ready to update the firmware. 24. When the Status of the update utility indicates "Update Successful!", press the button. 25. Congratulations, your Wireless LAN drivers and firmware are updated. If you receive a "Windows System Settings Change" dialog box prompting you to restart your computer, select . 8.
