Overview

These are the touchpad drivers for the Gateway M500.


Identification

If you have a Gateway M500 portable computer and are running Windows XP, you should install this touchpad driver.


Installation

1.  Close all open windows, except this readme.txt file if instructions are needed.

2.  If you have not already done so, locate and double-click the 9523098.exe file that you downloaded from the Internet.  This file should be located on your desktop.  Files are extracted to the C:\Cabs\9523098 folder.

3.  From the Start menu, click Run.

4.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\9523098\Setup.  Click OK

5.  In the Language dialog box, click OK.

6.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

7.  In the Copying Files dialog box, click Next.

8.  In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish to restart the computer.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In Add or Remove Programs, click Synaptics Touchpad, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  Click OK to continue removal.

5.  Click OK to restart the computer.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.
