Overview

This is the NVIDIA Graphics Controller Driver.  It is certified with Microsoft WHQL.  


Identification

Installation

1.  Close all open windows, except this readme.txt file if instructions are needed.

2.  If not already done, locate and double-click the 7511666.exe file that you downloaded from the Internet.  This file should be located on your desktop.

3.  The needed files extract to the C:\Cabs\7511666 folder.  When complete, in the Win-Zip dialog box, click OK.

4.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

5.  In Control Panel, double-click the Display icon.  If you do not see the Display icon, click View all Control Panel options.

6.  In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.

7.  In the NVIDIA Properties dialog box, click the Adapter tab, and then click Change.  

8.  In the Select Device dialog box, click Have Disk.

9.  In the Install From Disk dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\7511666.  Click OK.

10.  In the Select Device dialog box, click OK.

11.  In the Advanced Display Properties dialog box, click Close.

12.  When prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.


Removal 

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the Display icon.  If you do not see the Display icon, click View all Control panel options.

3.  In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.

4.  In the NVIDIA Properties dialog box, click the Adapter tab, and then click Change. 

5.  In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Next. 

6.  In the next dialog box, to allow the Wizard to search for updated drivers, click Next. 

7.  In the next dialog box, select Display to see a list of all drivers in a specific location, and then click Next. 

8.  In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Show All Hardware.  In the Manufacturers list, select (Standard display types).  In the Models list, select Standard Display Adapter (VGA), and then click Next. 

9.  In the next two dialog boxes, click Next. 

10.  In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Finish. 

11.  In the next dialog box, click Close. 

12.  In the Display Properties dialog box, click Close.

13.  When prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty during or after installation of the driver, try the following troubleshooting steps. 

1.  Ensure that all cables are securely connected.  

2.  Ensure that the video card is fully seated in the AGP or PCI expansion slot.

3.  Set your display adapter to Standard VGA.  See the Removal section in this document for the steps to do this, and then reinstall the driver using the installation procedure in this document.  Ensure that no steps are missed.  

4.  Try running GoBack, if available.
