Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install and configure the audio drivers for the Solo(r) 9550 portable computer in Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 98 and Windows(r) Me.


Identification

If you have a Solo(r) 9550 portable computer and are running Windows(r) 98 or Windows(r) Me, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  On the Start menu, point to Programs, Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.

2.  In Windows Explorer, in the C:\cabs\7512503 folder, double-click ESSSetup.exe.

3.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

4.  In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish.  The computer restarts.


Removal

1.  On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.

3.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.

4.  On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
 
5.  In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Sound, video and game controllers.

6.  Select ESS Allegro PCI Audio, and then click Remove.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.
