This directory contains the files necessary to load the Integrated Network Card drivers for the Solo 3150 in Win 95/98/NT ************************************************************************************************************************* Windows 95/98 ************* 1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Double click the System icon and select the Device Manager tab. 2. (Only required if Windows 95/98 has been reinstalled) On the Device Manager tab click the + next to Other Devices. You will see ?PCI Ethernet Controller in the list. 3. (Only required if Windows 95/98 has been reinstalled) Click ?PCI Ethernet Controller and click Remove. 4. (Only required if Windows 95/98 has been reinstalled) Click OK to confirm that you want to remove the PCI Ethernet Controller. 5. Once the PCI Ethernet Controller has been removed click Refresh. 6. A New Hardware Found window will appear stating that the system found a PCI Ethernet Controller. 7. Once the Add New Hardware Wizard window appears, click the Next button. 8. On the next screen, leave the bullet next to Search for the best driver for your device, and click Next. 9. On the next screen, place a check next to Specify a location, and click the browse button. 10. Browse to the folder where you extracted the files to, and click OK. 11. Back on the Add New Hardware Wizard window, click Next. 12. The Add New Hardware Wizard will find a PCI 10/100 LAN card by 3Com (Ethernet). Click the Next button. 13. Windows will copy some files and build a driver information database, and then may ask for the Windows CD. Insert the Windows CD into the CD-ROM drive, and click OK. 14. In the copy files from box, type d:\win9x, where d is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive and x is 5 for Windows 95 and 8 for Windows 98. 15. Windows will copy some files again, and then go back to the Add New Hardware Wizard. Once back to the Add New Hardware Wizard, click the Finish button. A Window titled System Settings Change will appear asking to restart the computer. Choose yes. Once the computer is restarted, your network card drivers are installed! Windows NT ********** 1. On the Windows NT desktop, right-click the Network Neighborhood icon, and then left-click Properties. 2. If Windows NT Networking has never been installed, and dialog box will come up asking if you would like to install it. Click on the Yes button. 3. After clicking yes, the Network Setup Wizard will start. On the first screen, there will be two options. Make sure a check mark is placed next to Wired to the network, and click Next. 4. On the next screen, click the button titled Select from list...When the list appears, click the Have Disk button. Type in the path to the folder where you extracted the downloaded files. 5. A window titled Select OEM Option will appear. Make sure PCI 10/100 LAN card by 3Com (Ethernet) is highlighted, and click OK. 6. Back on the Network Setup Wizard, make sure there is a check next to the 3Com network adapter, and click next. 7. The next screen asks you to specify which networking protocals you would like. Leave the check as it is, and click next, and click next again on the next screen. 8. The Network Setup Wizard will then say it's ready to install the networking componants. Click the Next button to continue. 9. Windows NT may need to copy some extra files. If a Window appears stating that Setup needs to copy some Windows NT files, enter the path to the I386 directory, or insert your Windows NT CD into the CD-ROM drive. If using the Windows NT CD, in the space provided type d:\i386, where d is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive, and press OK. 10. Once Windows finishes copying files, click the next button twice. 11. The next screen asks to make this computer a memeber of a Workgroup or a Domain. Select the appropriate option, type in the correct name, and click next. 12. Click finish, and Windows will prompt to be restarted. Click yes, and once back in Windows your network card is installed! 13. If Windows NT Networking is already installed, click the Adapter tab, and click the Add button. 14. On the Select Network Adapter window, click the Have Disk button. Once the Insert Disk window appear, type the path to the location where you extracted the downloaded drivers. 15. On the Select OEM Option window, make sure the PCI 10/100 LAN card by 3Com (Ethernet) is highlighted, and click OK. 16. Another window title'd Setup will appear. Simply click OK. 17. Windows NT will copy files again, and once finished will go back to the network properties window. Click the Close button. 18. After reviewing the bindings, Windows NT will prompt to be restarted.
