Overview

This Readme file describes the driver for the Permedia III adapter. 


Identification

Supported adapters are:

6001086 - Permedia III AGP 32-megabyte (MB) SGRAM AGP Video Card


Installation

Download the file to the desktop, and then follow these steps. 

1.  Double-click the 7507971.exe file.

2.  In the Win-Zip Self Extractor window, click Unzip to expand the files to C:\Cabs\7507971.

3.  Close all open programs.

4.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

5.  In Control Panel, double-click the Display icon. 

6.  In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.

7.  On the Settings tab, click Advanced.

8.  In the Plug and Play Monitor and Permedia Properties dialog box, click the Adapter tab.

9.  On the Adapter tab, click Properties. 

10.  In the Permedia Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab.

11.  On the Driver tab, click Update Driver.

12.  In the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Next.

13.  In the Install Hardware Device Drivers dialog box, click Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended), and then click Next.

14.  In the Locate Driver Files dialog box, select the Specify a location check box, clear the other check boxes, and then click Next.  

15.  In the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box, in the text box, type: C:\cabs\7507971.  Click OK.

16.  In the Driver Files Search Results dialog box, click Next.

17.  In the Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Finish.

18.  In the Permedia Properties dialog box, click Close.

19.  In the System Settings Change dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 

3.  In the Add/Remove Programs window, click Permedia Display Drivers, and then click Change/Remove. 

4.  In the Permedia Uninstall dialog box, click Yes.

5.  In the next dialog box, click OK to restart the computer.


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty installing the drivers or difficulty after installing the driver, try these troubleshooting steps: 

1.  Verify that all cables are securely connected.  

2.  Verify that the video card is fully seated in the AGP or PCI expansion slot.

3.  Set your display adapter to Standard VGA.  See the Removal section of this document, and then reinstall the driver using the installation procedure.  Ensure that you do not miss any of the steps.  


Reason for Update

Load the latest Gateway driver.
