Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install and configure the audio drivers for the Solo(r) portable computer 9550 in Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 2000.


Identification

If you have a Solo(r) 9550 portable computer and are running Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 2000, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  On the Start menu, point to Programs, Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.

2.  In Windows Explorer, in the C:\cabs\7512375 folder, double-click Setup.exe.

3.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

4.  In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish.  The computer restarts.


Removal

1.  On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.

3.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.

4.  On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
 
5.  In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Sound, video and game controllers.

6.  Click ESS Allegro PCI Audio (WDM), and then click the Uninstall button on the toolbar above.  The button resembles a system with a red X over it.

7.  When prompted to confirm this, click OK.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.
