Installing the Device Drivers for Windows 2000

1. Download and run the file DLTVS160DRV.exe. The file will extract its contents to a temporary directory. 
   The default directory is x:\Dell\Drivers\R64576\Windows\32-bit where x:\ is the system root. 
2. Go to the desktop. Right click on My Computer and select Manage. The Computer Management folder appears. 
   Select Device Manager. 
3. Find the Quantum DLT VS160 tape drive in the device manager. 
4. Right click the Quantum DLT VS160 tape drive and select Properties from the menu. 
5. In the new window select the Driver tab. 
6. Click the Update Driver button, this will start an installation wizard. 
7. Click next to continue. 
8. Select the option "Display a list of known drivers..." and click next. 
9. Click Have Disk. 
10. Enter the location of the extracted drivers (The default is x:\Dell\Drivers\R64576\Windows\32-bit). 
11. Follow the rest of the instructions in the wizard to finish installation. 



Installing the Device Drivers for Windows 2003 (32 bit)

   The default directory is x:\Dell\Drivers\R64576\Windows\32-bit where x:\ is the system root. 
2. Go to the desktop. Right click on My Computer and select Manage. The Computer Management folder appears. 
   Select Device Manager. 
3. Find the Quantum DLT VS160 tape drive in the device manager. 
4. Right click the Quantum DLT VS160 tape drive and select Properties from the menu. 
5. In the new window select the Driver tab. 
6. Click the Update Driver button, this will start an installation wizard. 
7. Click next to continue. 

8. Click the Install from List or Specific Location radio button

9. Click the Next button.

10. Checkmark the Search Removable Media box

11. Click the NEXT button.

12. Click the Finish button.

13. Close the Device Properties dialog box.

14. The drive now appears in Device Manager under Tape drives and is ready to use.
