CNET PRO200WL PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter NetWare 4.10 Server for ODI Driver Installation Guide ===================================================== Installation Procedure ====================== Before you start with the installation process, make sure that the Novell NetWare V4.10 server is properly installed. Similarly, your adapter should also be properly installed in your workstation. 1. Insert the driver diskette into drive 'A' and check the contents of sub-directory \NETWARE\SERVER.410, It should contain the following files: DM9PCI.LAN * Novell NetWare V4.10 Server Driver. DM9PCI.LDI * Novell NetWare Server Driver Installation Information File. MSM.NLM ETHERTSM.NLM NBI.NLM README.TXT 2. Copy the above files into the NetWare sub-directory of your server. C:\COPY A:\NETWARE\SERVER.410\*.* C:\NWSERVER\*.* 3. Run SERVER.EXE from your server. You will see a series of NetWare messages on the screen. C:\NWSERVER\SERVER.EXE 4. Before loading the adapter driver, you must load MSM.NLM first and then load ETHERTSM.NLM. :LOAD C:\NWSERVER\MSM.NLM. :LOAD C:\NWSERVER\ETHERTSM.NLM 5. At the NetWare prompt (indicated by the Server name), run the INSTALL.NLM program by typing: :LOAD INSTALL 6. The INSTALL program will prompt "NetWare Installation" windows on the screen. 7. In the "Installation Options" windows to select "Driver options (Load/ Unload/...)" and press . 8. Select "Configure network drivers", and then press . 9. Select "Load an additional driver", and then press . 10. Press the key to specify other drivers to install. 11. Press , specify the driver path (A:\NETWARE\SERVER.410), and then press . 12. The "DM9PCI.LAN | CNet PRO200WL PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter driver" should appear in your choice list for the "Select a driver" to install field and press . 13. Choose this driver to start the driver loading and binding procedure. This will allow you to load and bind all 4 frame types supported by NetWare server. 14. To complete the process, follow the instrctions on the screen. Installation Notes ================== A. You had better add the followings in the STARTUP.NCF: Set reserved buffers below 16 meg 200 Set maximum physical receive packet size = 1530 Set minimum packet receive buffers = 150 B. You may specify the line speed and mode type you need in the AUTOEXEC.NCF file. :LOAD [C:]\\DM9PCI FRAME=ETHERNET_802.3 [Speed/Mode Type] If you do not specify the Speed/Mode type, the default is AUTO-Negotiation (N-WAY).
